EUREKA SPRINGS TRANSIT STATEMENT ON COVID-19 EXPOSURE RISK REDUCTION MEASURES, TRANSIT SERVICE
Vehicle Fleet and Transit Station Receiving Additional Cleaning and Sanitation Procedures

EUREKA SPRINGS, AR (March 16, 2020) — Eureka Springs Transit system is committed to working with the community to maintain vital public transit service during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak while taking additional measures to reduce exposure risk to riders and staff members.

It has been a standard practice to sanitize vehicles; offer hand sanitizer stations at the Transit Welcome Center, Planer Hill Park & Ride and the Downtown Trolley Depot; full-time janitor for all Transit Properties; and offer Transit drivers and other employees hand sanitizer stations and disposable gloves at each Transit property prior to the COVID-19 outbreak. These measures will continue. In addition, Transit has increased its fleet sanitation schedule, wiping down all high-touch surfaces daily. Transit is also increasing sanitation procedures at each Transit property to reduce the risk of virus exposure for employees and riders.

Currently, Eureka Springs Transit services are in regular operations. Should Transit be forced to reduce service, priority will be given to service for area medical patients, some of whom rely on Transit Trolley service and Share-a-Ride service to get to multiple weekly appointments. As with all service alerts, riders may find service alerts on our announcement page at http://www.eurekatrolley.org/announcements.htm

We do keep the health and safety of our riders and employees as a top priority. Transit will continue to provide safe, friendly service as we always have. Please let you guests and visitors know we are glad they are here and we are doing all we can to protect their health during this time.

We have hired more personnel to help in the cleaning and sanitizing of our vehicle. We also are adding updated cleaning of our vehicles during the day.
For good music, along with Transit System announcements, please tune into Eureka Springs Radio, KESA, 100.9 fm.
